Made with love & care
Sheila (Sal’s mom) and Sal discovered weaving quite by accident in 2017 when they attended a local weavers guild open house. Sal was interested, but Sheila knew it was something she had to do. From that day, she felt she needed to weave. The pair purchased one Cricket rigid heddle loom and shared it briefly before purchasing a second one. Both experimented with various weaving projects, learning how different yarns behave when woven. As Sheila’s interest grew, Sal’s interest waned. Sal was still interested in yarn and fiber, and tried knitting, and there found the perfect match, quickly learning and mastering techniques, adjusting and creating patterns. While Sal was discovering knitting, Sheila was eagerly learning as much as she could using the little Cricket loom, and was searching for a four shaft floor loom. On Mothers Day of 2017, Sheila found exactly what she was looking for, a used, gently loved, 4 shaft Gilmore floor loom, built by Gilmore Looms in Stockton California.
The pair began weaving and knitting, and making beautiful hats, scarves, socks and dishtowels. They gave these to friends and family as gifts, and it wasn’t long before requests to purchase items started coming in. To help manage these requests, they started this online store.
